EXPANDING GREEN BUILDING INITIATIVES

Imperial Homes Corporation has always been the frontrunner in advocating sustainability. Its Via Verde Project, which received various recognitions as the first solar-powered resilient community, is a solid proof that green building is not only good for the environment but a rewarding investment as well. We continue to enjoy phenomenal increasing monthly reservation sales as more and more Filipinos recognize the long-term benefits and value of solar and Connovate’s High-Performance Concrete Panels.

We continue to expand our Via Verde Project in various locations such as CALABARZON, Bicol, and Cabanatuan City. Recently, we have successfully launched two new projects: Via Verde Padre Garcia in Padre Garcia, Batangas, and Via Verde Heights Subdivision in Estanza Legazpi City.

This Green Housing Innovation has also attracted other big developers, such as Damosa Land and AboitizLand, to partner with us in developing sustainable communities in other areas in the country.

Stakeholders’ Role on Green Building

As we want to encourage more developers to integrate green innovations into their property developments, the PropTech Consortium of the Philippines, where Ms. Emma Imperial sits as the chairwoman, has also secured strong support from Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF), Organization of Socialized and Economic Housing Developers of the Philippines (OSHDP), Inc., Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA), and National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation (NHMFC), to address the pain points of developers and establish long term-innovative solutions.

The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the Department of Energy (DOE) also committed to develop programs incentivizing real estate players that will embrace business models that promote the development, utilization, and commercialization of renewable energy such as but not limited to Solar Community Development.

With the support of all the players in the industry, we are looking forward to a much greener Philippines. As we continue with our advocacy, we are also hoping that more sustainable financing programs will be offered to developers that offer green solutions. A better future is possible through a whole-of-nation and whole-of-government approach.
